Method and sources

A frozen campaign prior is updated with validated exit polls. Partial counts stay excluded until the count model passes its validation gate. Each simulation allocates 120 seats. Ranges cover the middle 80%; the coherent mosaic point and separate marginal medians answer different questions. These are not probabilities of a government forming.

Turnout
Turnout was 77.7% when polls closed, the highest since 1999: 5,695,682 voters. Times of Israel, from the Central Elections Committee
What to expect from the count
The count runs through the night and the days after. Soldiers' and other double-envelope votes are counted after the regular ballots and are not expected to be fully counted until Thursday. Exit polls often miss by a seat or two per list, and a list near the 3.25% threshold can still go either way. The Jewish Chronicle
Complaints about ballot slips
During the day Yashar, Yisrael Beiteinu and People of Israel complained of missing, damaged or tampered ballot slips. The Central Elections Committee said: Contrary to claims circulating online, there are currently no indications of systematic tampering with ballot slips. The Jewish Chronicle

The threshold

3.25% of valid votes counted so far is 166,863 votes. A list below it gets no seats; its votes are not transferred. Seats are allocated among the lists that passed.

No list is within half a point of the threshold in the votes counted so far.

How votes become seats

  1. Lists with fewer than 3.25% of valid votes get no seats. Their votes are not transferred.
  2. The 120 seats are shared among the remaining lists in proportion to their votes, by the Bader-Ofer method.
  3. Two lists that signed a surplus-vote agreement compete for leftover seats as if they were one list, then split what they win. This can affect leftover-seat allocation. Provisional assumptions here (reported signed; official filing unverified): Yashar! and The Democrats; B'Yachad and Yisrael Beiteinu; Joint List and Ra'am; Likud and Religious Zionism–Zehut; Shas and UTJ.
  4. 61 seats is an absolute majority. Initial confidence requires more votes for than against, excluding abstentions; constructive no-confidence requires 61 MKs to support an alternative government. IDI explanation; Basic Law: Government.
